Book Blogger Hop

Book Blogger Hop

The question for this week's Book Blogger Hop (hosted by Crazy For Books) is: Who is your favorite new-to-you author so far this year?

Oh, that's a tough one. I've run into several great new writers this year and picking just one... I've never been good at coming up with favorites. Right now I'm looking for more books by Jessica Day George. I just finished Princess of the Midnight Ball, which is probably the best retelling of The Twelve Dancing Princesses that I've yet run across. I'm interested to see what else she's written. So, my answer is: Jessica Day George, because she's the most recent new-to-me author I've read so far this year. I make no promises about next week, however!

So funny, I ended up picking Jessica Day George too--although I've only read her Dragon Slippers series. I'm so glad to hear that her others are great!

Oh, great choice! I really enjoyed Princess of the Midnight Ball and would like to read the next (Princess of Glass) when I get the chance.

It IS a tough question, isn't it? Haven't heard of this author before (which is what I love about book blogs). Nice to have found you through the Hop!

I really, really like the idea of this blog.

Putting soundtracks to books is one of my favourite activities (though usually "soundtrack" ends up being the playlist I've put on repeat while I'm reading). I've curious: what's your process for deciding on a song or soundtrack? Do the songs suggest themselves (as in "this songs reminds me of this story " or even visa versa, with the story reminding you of a song?)

Fascinating blog you have here!

Hello, just stopping by on the blog hop. I think you might be the second or third blogger that has mentioned this book recently--and I really like books based on fairy tales. Love the concept of your blog. Have a great weekend!

Entish - I don't know how my sister decides, but for me it's usually a matter of hearing a song and thinking, "Oh, this fits such and such a book/character so well!" It doesn't happen every day, so when I have a moment of inspiration I tend to grab it quickly and get it down on paper so that I can use it for a future blog post.

Jennifer - Inspiration is such a flighty thing, isn't it? ;D Do you find that it's often the lyrics that remind you of a book/character? The music? Or a combination of the two?

Lyrics for me, although the mood of the music plays a huge role.

What about you? How do you put together your soundtracks?
