Book Blogger Hop

Book Blogger HopThe weekly Book Blogger Hop is brought to you by Crazy For Books. Just click on the link to get the rules and to participate. It's a lot of fun and a great way to meet new book bloggers!

This week's question is: How many books do you have on your 'to be read shelf’?

If I buy a book, I read it - usually within hours of getting it into my clutches. So, I don't actually have a literal shelf with TBR books on it. I do have lists, though, of books to-be-read, books to-be-bought, books-to-give-as-presents, etc. They are partially on my Amazon wishlist, partially on a list of favorite authors on an old Palm M130 that I use as an e-reader, and mostly in my head. I don't know how many there are. There are many, many pages on my Amazon wishlist. My main wishlist currently stands at 158, my kids' books list currently stands at only 39. Then there are my wishlists for writing books, gardening books, books on home canning (huge hobby of mine), and the list I keep to direct my husband to for birthdays and other gift-giving days. I currently have a couple dozen favorite writers that I buy whenever they have a new book out. And then there's all the series that I want to complete (like Sue Grafton's Kinsey Millhone books or Lee Martin's Deb Ralston collection). I would have to say that I want to buy, nearly as many books as I already own, which is already more books than will fit on my shelves. (And I seriously want the library room my sister showed in her "Bliss" post. *sigh* Wouldn't that be great?)

Books: Kinsey Millhone, Sue Grafton
            Deb Ralston, Lee Martin

I am terrible at not making lists of the books that I want to read. I have a shelf of books I haven't read yet because I am terrible at buying books at a faster rate than I can read them. Other than that, I just have to go on memory and instinct when I am book shopping

Happy Friday!!!--Stopping by from the hop!--Old follower!!! (within the last two hops) :)

my tbr number is a little high right now, but to be fair, I'm also including all the classics and such that I'd like to read "someday." The actual pile on my desk is much smaller ;)

Hi Cannwin,

I'm with Becky (do you realise that three of your commenters are Australians -including me?).

I am not big on keeping lists of what I want to read, and the only half-hearted list I have is Goodreads which has about 70 books on it.

I think I'd go nuts if I tried to keep up with all the books I encounter and might like to read one day!

I very rarely read a book on the same day that I get it.

Happy Friday. Come see how many books I have on my TBR pile.

Hoppin' by to say hello. --I would love a library room too! I'm foremost a stay-at-home mom and don't play the lotter so it'll take a while to get it! :D

Happy reading and come by and visit me some time.

Hey there, thanks for stopping by my blog!

I'm the opposite of you, I never read books as soon as I get them unless they're part of a series that I've been waiting for. I have to be in the right 'mood' for a particular kind of book haha which is why I have a collection of various things to choose from!

Anyway, I love this blog. It's lovely :)

Following.

I wish I could read all the books that I buy. I usually read them last thinking I read them at any point. LOL!

Like your blog and now a new follower.
